1st week in Puerto Plata and PICS!!

Hello:)
About my week~

Wednesday after we wrote we went to the church for an activity and played bingo. There were a lot of members that showed up for the activity I was really surprised.

Thursday we walked to La Sirena,  it is a grocery store here and it is right next to the ocean. Sadly I did not have my camera to take pictures.

Friday we had a English class with all of the latino missionaries. It was a lot of fun.  The elders in my area are really funny! We also had a noche de hogar at a menos activos house that was really good and really spiritual.

Saturday we helped an hna in the ward clean her house. Then we ate some really yummy food I don't exactly know what we ate ~but it was good. We then went to 2 baptisms to support a couple of Elders in our zone and then afterwards we were invited to go to a fiesta that was a lot of fun!!

Sunday- church was so different than it is in Bonao. There were tons of people at church. In sacrament meeting there were kids yelling and running around eveywhere. For lunch we went to a members house with the Elders to eat. The food was really good; rice, chicken, and a salad.

Afterwards the Relief Society and us went to visit a member who is in a nursing home. It was a lot of fun and reminded me of Gma Lois. I miss her so much!! Then we had a reunion and went to some citas. Almost all of the citas we went to gave us food. So,  if I have not gained weight yet in the mission it is sure that I will here. :(

Monday we had some amazing citas and they were all with members which was awesome!

Tuesday we had my hardest cita ever! It is so hard teaching someone when you don´t have the spirit in the lesson because they bash everything you say and they don´t want to listen to what you are teaching, and  all they want to do is preach the bible to you. I felt so uncomfortable in this lesson.

However, the rest of our lessons went really great, and we had a noche de hogar too.

Wednesday we went to a members house with a bunch of other missionaries and hung out the house was beautiful and huge (picture below)!!

My new area is great but it is hard at the same time; not knowing where I am at half the time or the people. Oh , Hna Lizardo is from Honduras. I am learning a lot from her.

I hope you have a great week! Until next week!!

I love you!

My First Transfer!! 11-20-13 (pics)

Hey everyone I hope you are doing great!

This last week has been a little rough for me.  I found out Thursday night that I was being transferred.

Friday we went and helped someone clean her house and then we went to a menos activo. She hadn't been coming to church for awhile and I felt I  needed to talk with her before I left. The spirit was so strong in our lesson. I could see tears in her eyes. Sunday she ended up coming to church  which was  awesome!

So this last week we just went and visited a lot of people and did some last minute things with Hna Mojica before I leave.

Leaving has been so hard.... lots of tears. It was like I was leaving home all over again. Bonao had became my home; I had a family there and tons of friends.

I am now in Puerto Plata. My new comp is Hna Lizardo. She has 7 months in the mission,  just 2 weeks more then I do and has been here since she has been out. She comes from a huge family. I dont really know much about her yet, we just met a couple hours ago. and I forgot where she is from but she does not know English.

I haven't done much today just a lot of traveling.

I hope you are all doing great i love you!!!

Until next week!

What a week!! 11-13-13

Hello Everyone!

Here is my week in a nutshell:)

Wednesday we went to another river/ waterfall! This one probably is one of my favorites so far. It was a little hike to get to it but it was so beautiful!!!!!!!!!

Thursday morning we had a huge zone conference. It was really good. I learned a lot about how we can strengthen our faith... it was so crazy because we  have an investigator right now that is struggling with her faith and so the conference was perfect for me to know how I can help her in her life. When we got home we had some awesome citas. We started teaching a new family. We have only had the first lesson with them, so I can't say or tell what will happen with them,  but I hope that they will be able to feel the spirit and get a conformation that the church is true and what we are teaching them is true and will want to change their lives and be baptized.

Friday we helped one of our menos activos clean her house when we went over. The lesson with her was so strong spiritually!!! That night we had a noche de rancha (a family night with everyone in our branch). That was awesome. We talked about the atonement, the spirit was so strong.

Saturday we went into Santiago because I was still feeling pain and a lot more of it. So we went and visited the doctor. He did an eco and said that it looks like I have an inflammation in my pericardial and so he gave me some medicine ( Rantudil 60mg). The doctor also said that my heart is small.... nothing new for me! :) When we got back we went to a couple of citas. Our last cita was with Alfa she asked me if I knew how to color hair.  I said "no but I can try I am sure it is not too hard". So we helped her color and wash her hair!  It was a lot of fun and it turned out pretty good!!! :)

Sunday I was showering and I bent down to get some water because I was taking a bucket shower and my back almost locked. I think the water was too heavy. It was really scary. At church we had a conference and I was not feeling good at all. Afterwards we asked to use the computers to look up the medicine the doctor put me on, because they didn't tell me anything when they gave it to me. We found out that everything I was feeling and happening were all side effects from the medicine: nausea , vomiting , abdominal pain, loss of appetite , headache, drowsiness , dizziness , fatigue , tinnitus, confusion,  irritability , muscle weakness; everything that you can think of that could be a side effect I got besides fever and diarrhea...

Monday we went to a couple of citas and the symptoms I felt like got worse as I was walking. so we took it easy.

Tuesday we went back into Santiago and got some tests done. We were in Santiago all day and we got the medicine changed. The doctor doesn't know actually what  the problem but he thinks that I might have an infection but he is not sure where. I hope this new medicine (Rupax and Renikan pelargonium sidoides) works. So far I feel the same... the effects aren't as bad,  which is awesome but I still have some of them which stinks! The doctor said to give it about 2 or 3 days and if it still is bad then to call him again.

I really want to get this over with... It stinks so bad. I hate the attention and having to go to the doctor so much.

Well I hope you guys all have a great week! Until next week!!!

I love you!!!!
