Rain,Rain and more Rain!!

Hello!

This week we did a lot of contacting in the Campo and the rich area....

Friday we went into Santiago for a Sister Meeting. It was awesome.  Hna Lizardo is going to be my sister leader,  I am so excited!! I miss that girl! When we got home we  contacted a couple of our neighbors. The first thing they said to us after we sat down was "we see you guys running in the mornings". lol :) We then got to know them and gave them a folleto. Hopefully we will see some progression with them.. we need it. We have  no one that we are teaching right now.
Saturday we ended up doing  service all day for a members  birthday party. We decorated and helped serve.
Sunday I gave a talk in church about the love of God. We went to a fireside that we sang at.
Monday we had a district meeting. After the meeting we went out with a member because they had a reference for us. we ended up walking 5km in the pouring rain (no i do not have an umbrella) just to get to the persons house... it was such an expereince but it was so cool. on the way back we started walking in the pouring rain again and someone stopped by and actually offered us a ride in the bed of their truck so we hopped in with the member... that saved us from walking about 3km.
We went home changed our clothes and left for a NDH. I left looking like a fool dressed in yellow La Sirena bags to protect me from getting soaked. A couple of member saw me and said they loved the yellow bag idea and said it was so smart!

There are some awesome people here i am learning a lot from the members . In this area we have a lot of Haitianos they are some of the most humble people ever. I love listening and learning from them.

I want to tell you a story about one of the members here. His name is Robenson; he is haitiano and has been a member for just over a year, and works at an apartment building. We went and visited him the other night and he told us that Saturday night he had a dream that one of the people that lived in the apartment told him not to open the gate because it was dangreous. He didn´t really think anything of it but as he was getting ready for church he had a feeling to leave at 9am and not 8:45. So while he waited, he read his scriptures. Before he joined the church he couldn't read at all and now he can read really good. a miricle from God). when he was reading he heard the gateopening -the one in his dream that he was told not to open. He looked out and saw someone trying to get in. He ended up scaring the guy away. The guy left and didn't end up doing what he came to do, probably rob the house because he was scared. Robenson then came to church. We he told us that story, we knew Heavenly Father protected him and we could feel the spirit as he told us,
I know that the Lord answers our prayers and loves and protects us!

today we went and visited one of Hna Manarangs old areas and i spent the day with a different sister, Hna Allen it was awesome getting to know her and spending the day with her. We went to the beach that is right next to her house it was so cool! when we left it started pouring and we had to hop in a truck to get back to San Francisco that was almost a 2 hour drive and the guy had his AC up and i was freezing like an icecube. oh and just so you know yes it is possible to fit 8 people in a 5 person truck, we did it today. However, today was a good day!

I love and miss you guys!
Until next week!
I hope you have a great week!

Pressing Forward

Hello Everyone!

Well the first week in my new area was good. Our area is huge! One of the hard thing about this area is that the people here are really rich, and it is hard getting into their houses. So, we work a lot in the Elders area, but we will  have to change that because they were giving us a fuss for not working in our own area
Before I got to this area they had planned on doing a booth in a park here on Friday, so we got to do that.  Most people just kept walking by and never stopped  to talk to us, that is......  except a little boy that took a folleto who left and made it into a gun and  started playing with his friend with it. After a couple of hours of doing the booth we ended it and went to our citas.

Saturday we went to Pizza Hut....  it was sooooo good.  I miss American food!  Our citas that day were really good. We walked a lot and got lost a couple of times.

My first Sunday  here was great! Church was good. I was put on the program so I got to talk and bear my testimony. After church we went to a members house for dinner. They made something I haven't had here before "steamed veggies" (so good!) and dessert. Afterwards we went to a cita, and then got to Skype our families for Mother's Day! It was so awesome seeing and talking to everyone. I miss you guys so much!

Monday and Tuesday we had meetings. (Tuesdays meeting was with President and Hna Douglas about how we can strengthen the work here in San Francisco). I learned a lot in that meeting.  Here in San Francisco the work is really hard but I am willing to work as hard as I need to help strengthen the work here. We also have started working in a new part of our area in El Campo to find new investigators. I am really excited to that.

Tuesday night Hna Manarang  got asked to teach seminary,  which in this area it is at 6pm.  There was only one person that showed up to it. I have realized that I wish I had paid more attention in Seminary.  I'm glad I have my mission experience to study and learn the things that I was taught before. I love learning new things. Tell the kids in seminary to pay attention!!! The things that you will learn will bless you for ever!

We  have been talking about starting an English class here (like in my last area) to see if we can get some other new investigators to attend.

The work here  needs a lot of help but I know we can do it. I know that if we put forth the effort there will be a lot of éxito in this area. I know we changed a lot in my last area and that President put me here to help change this area. I can not wait to see the progression and changes that the Lord has in store here in San Francisco.

Wednesday- because it is my companions last transfer before going home,  we are going to be doing a lot of traveling on Wednesdays (our p-day) so that she can visit her old areas. Yesterday we were in Santiago buying things, seeing people, and doing a little bit of last minute things. We also ate at the new Subway that was just built.

I love and miss you guys!
Until next week!
I hope you have a great week!

San Francisco here I come!! :)

WOW where did this transfer go....

A lot has happened this week. We had a lot of citas and at the same time it gave me time to  say goodbye to a lot of the people.

Friday we had two baptisms. It was awesome seeing these young kids change their lives,  and  for being great examples to their families. I know that they will have great experiences in their lives. Hna Colton (my former companion) was able to come and be there for the baptisms. We taught them together so it  was  awesome to have her come..  It was hard seeing her leave.

Saturday we had an activity that was so awesome and really fun! Everyone was asked to make a treat. I made caramel popcorn and all of the members went crazy over it.  I made it a couple more times before I left so that they could learn how to make it themselves.

Sunday was a great day. We went to a members house to spend sometime and to make caramel popcorn (again) and they taught us a couple of kids games. Someone there asked me if Hna Santana was my daughter.... we all started laughing, especially because we look nothing a like and are the same age.

Monday we did our normal routine. That night Marianela invited us over to her house because she had planned a little get together for me before I left... it was so cool! Towards the end of the get together we ended up having a cake fight  which was a lot of fun.

Yesterday we visited a lot of members and people that I wanted to see before I left to say goodbye to. It poured all day, so it was a little hard  to get around like we normally do. The mud is terrible here.

My new area is San Francisco. I have heard that this is a rich area and that a lot of the members know and speak English. My companion is Hna Manarang. She is from Cali and only has 6 weeks left in the mission. She is the first missionary in her family and has 2 younger siblings.

I can't wait to talk to you this Sunday!!

I love and miss you guys!
Until next week!
I hope you have a great week!
